Steps to Guiding Young Individual From Addictive Behaviours
1. Strengthen Your Relationship
Foster open communication to ensure they feel comfortable seeking guidance in times of difficulty.
2.Educate Yourself
Understand the various addictive substances and behaviors accessible by young individuals—if it is on the internet, it is accessible.
3. Listen and Understand
Identify underlying reasons why they may turn to these substances or activities. What are the missing elements in their lives?
4. Explore Alternatives
Encourage engaging in fun and social activities that do not rely on such stimulants.
5. Lead by Example
Set a positive role model by living a life free from dependence on such substances or activities.
