With a wealth of experience and expertise, Joselyn Loh spearheads our team as the Founder and Clinical Director. Her professional journey spans over two decades, including roles in private practice, social service agencies, and educational institutions. Joselyn has made a significant impact in family dynamics, notably as a pioneer in Singapore’s divorce counselling services, working with government ministries and family courts to support couples and families in crisis.
In addition to her work with divorce and family dynamics, Joselyn has extensive experience supporting couples affected by trauma due to infidelity, individuals with childhood trauma, relational trauma, and children who have witnessed or experienced trauma related to parental divorce and other significant events
Trained and certified in various schools of counseling and psychotherapy, Joselyn has adopted an integrative approach, believing that no single theory can fully explain the complexities of human behavior and problems. With twenty years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, she combines a systemic approach with other techniques tailored to address clients’ issues and achieve therapeutic outcomes. Above all, she emphasizes building an authentic therapeutic relationship with clients to foster growth and change.
Joselyn’s leadership skills were also evident in the pioneering work of a parenting support service to the school community. She was interviewed by the Straits Times, Channel News Asia, and Channel 8, where she shared her insights on family-related topics.
Joselyn’s journey into counselling was a serendipity that began after a career in the banking industry across New York and the Asia Pacific region. After her retrenchment during the Asian Economic Crisis, she volunteered for a community organization and was trained to be a hotline counsellor for the youth. The volunteering experiences ignited a passion for counselling, prompting her to undertake further studies and transition into her current work.
Having studied, lived, and subsequently worked at New York Wall Street and Asia Pacific, enriching Joselyn’s experience, and worldview. The international perspective enriches her therapeutic approach, facilitating a deeper understanding and connection with clients from various cultural backgrounds.
